Institutional Review Board
Welcome!
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology gives its opinion on the suitability of psychological research projects and research projects with personal data.
Such an application is particularly recommended for investigations that do not involve any risks to persons being examined (otherwise please contact the Ethics Committee of the University of Vienna), but should be published in peer-reviewed scientific journals requiring formal approval by the IRB. Applications can be submitted at any time. As a rule, the application to the IRB is preceded by completion of the basic questionnaire. The forms for explanatory letters and declarations of consent as well as, if applicable, the written form of debriefing must be enclosed with the application to the IRB. You can find the basic questionnaire along with help in completing the questionnaire and an example IRB proposal below:
Applications can be submitted by all staff of the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology. Applications from employees of other institutes or from students, trainees or student employees will not be processed. Likewise, no "post-hoc" applications are accepted (i.e. data collection already in progress or is already over).
Please note that the processing time of applications is usually four weeks. Submit applications for the start of your projects/studies at an early stage. Thank you very much.
Submitting an application
From now on, we ask you to only use the new online form to submit your applications. You can find more information about that here (Attention: the link will open a weblogin first).
